Sutra (sutrasocial.com) is a not-for-profit matrimonial service. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Profile details you enter (age, location, education, community, lifestyle, family, horoscope/birth details, photo).
• Your partner preferences and the free-text descriptions you write. These are sealed — never shown to any other member.
• Identity verification: your verified name and address and a reference token from the KYC provider. We do not store your raw Aadhaar/PAN number.
• Account data: email and an encrypted (hashed) password.

How we use it

• To compute compatibility and show you mutual matches. Your preferences drive matching but are never revealed to others.
• Photos are hidden until a strong mutual match and both people consent to reveal them.
• Verification is used only to confirm you are a real person and keep out fake profiles.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Other members only ever see the public information you choose to share — never your preferences, essays, birth details, or verification data.

Your choices

You can edit your profile anytime. To delete your account and data, email us.
